How Poor We Are

Setiap pagi, di kantorku ada briefing. Morning briefing sebutannya. Beberapa hari yang lalu, giliran salah satu petinggi bagianku yang berbicara. Beliau memutar sebuah video animasi tentang seorang ayah yang membawa anak laki-lakinya jalan-jalan ke desa. Sang ayah berharap bahwa si anak dapat melihat desa yang miskin. Saat kembali dari perjalanan, sang ayah bertanya,

"How was the trip?"

"That was great, Daddy. Thank you."

"What do you think?"

"In the city, we have pool, they have river. We have a wall to protect us, they protect each other. We have television, they have family. We have the city, they have God. Thank you, Daddy. To show me how poor we are."

Moral of the story: It's not about money, facility, or wealth which makes us rich. It's about love, compassion, and togetherness which makes us rich.
